论中国君子和英国绅士的理想人格

如中国的谚语所说：一方水土养一方人。在中国有谦谦君子，在英国则是优雅绅士。君子和绅士分别是中英两国文化的典型代表，并对各自国家的文化、社会生活、民族性格等都产生了重大而深远的影响。本论文将君子和绅士结合起来研究，从文化差异的角度分析这两种理想人格，对比两者的异同，从而更好地认识中西方文化之间的差异。中国谦谦君子和英国优雅绅士的共同点体现在：持友好、亲切的态度对待他人；拥有诚实、正直的品格和德行；具有得体优雅的举止和修养。两者不同点表现在：对待女性的态度；崇文与尚武；对财富和地位的看法。
    在对比和分析君子和绅士不同点的基础上，本论文得出了中西方对理想人格的要求存在差异这一结论，并试图把君子和绅士这两种不同的理想人格加以取长补短，吸取两者的积极因素，塑造当今社会所需的理想人格。
    本论文首先概述中国的理想人格即君子与英国的理想人格即绅士的形成和发展，其次将君子和绅士的相同点以及不同点进行比较,且从文化差异的角度分析两者存在差异的原因；最后论述借鉴两种理想人格的积极因素来塑造当今迫切所需的理想人格。

Ideal Characters in Chinese "Junzi" and British Gentleman

Abstract: As a Chinese saying goes: "The original features of a local environment always give its inhabitants unique characteristics", there is Junzi in China, whereas in Britain there is Gentleman. Both Junzi and Gentleman are typical representatives of their own countries, and also have profound and significant influences on their own countries' cultures, social life and national characters and so on.
  This thesis attempts to combine Chinese junzi with British gentleman to analyze both ideal characters and to research their similarities and differences from cultural perspective, in order to reach the better comprehension of differences between the eastern and western cultures. The similarities of both ideal characters are reflected in following parts: holding kind and friendly attitudes towards people; owning honest and righteous virtues and morals; possessing courteous and graceful behaviours and bearings. And their differences are manifested in following aspects: holding distinct attitudes towards women; preferring mental work or manual work; holding different views on treasure and status.
  On the basis of comparison and analysis above, this thesis arrives at the conclusion that there are lots of different requirements of the ideal character between China and Britain. In addition, it also intends to take advantage of positive factors of both ideal characters to shape the current ideal character which is needed.
  First of all, this thesis presents the formation and development of both countries' ideal characters: Chinese junzi and British gentleman. Then it compares and contrasts both ideal characters and reasons for their differences are discussed in the following part, from cultural perspective. Finally, the last part draws a conclusion of the thesis, and takes advantage of positive factors of both characters to shape the current ideal character that we need urgently.
