中英颜色词象征意义比较

在人类语言中，颜色词是一个非常重要的一部分。颜色词不仅仅简单表示物体的颜色，由于中英文化的差异，色彩语的象征意义在中西方有很大差异。随着文化的发展以及全球化的影响，国家之间的交流日益密切，颜色词也变得更加丰富多彩。中英两国处于不同的东西文化背景之下，虽然大部分的颜色词的基本含义趋于相同，但是象征意义却存在不同之处，象征意义往往相对独立地存在于语言背景之下，不仅反应了该民族在政治、风俗习惯等方面与其他民族不同的地方，而且也在一定程度上反映出了人们的情感思想。在了解颜色词时，不仅要关注它们的基本意义，更要留心它们含义深广的象征意义。本文试图从中西文化差异和融合的角度分析中英色彩语的象征意义的异同。

A Comparative Study of the Symbolization of Chinese and English Color Words
Abstract: Color words have abundant cultural implications. They are not only the colors of objects, but also the reflection of cultures. Because of the differences between Chinese and English culture, and due to the different historical and cultural background, social environment and aesthetic ideas, the symbolic meanings of color words are diverse. With the respective development of Chinese and English culture and the influence by the globalization as well, the two countries communicate become more frequently, and the color words are getting much richer with different culture backgrounds. As China and Britain are completely different in geography, ethnic customs, common ways of thinking, and as well as aesthetic and psychological culture, the two countries have distinct education and culture background. Although the basic meanings of color words are tending to the same, there are also something different between China and Britain. Besides, based on the different Chinese and English language, the symbolic meanings of color words are not always same. Now, there are more and more color words all around, the significance of which also has a great difference. The symbolic meanings of color words are existed relatively independently in the special language backgrounds, and always can reflect the nation’ differences in culture, politics, customs, emotions and many other aspects. What’s more, they reflect people’s thinking, attitudes, beliefs, and world outlooks etc. When we come to understand the color words, we not only should observe their basic meaning, but also have to pay attention to their symbolic meaning. The symbolic difference between China and Britain is the result of the development of the society and the history, which is a cultural phenomenon. We should pay enough attention to it. This paper illustrates the same and different symbolic meanings of color words from the angle of differences and integration in Chinese and English cultures.
