从自然主义视角解读《嘉莉妹妹》中 “美丽精确性”风格

德莱赛是美国自然主义文学的杰出代表，他的自然主义文学创作手法开创了美国文学的新纪元。他视客观真实为创作的最高法则，从中体现了“美丽精确性”的写作风格。本文主要是从自然主义角度分析小说《嘉莉妹妹》中的“美丽精确性”写作风格。
文章首先从德莱赛对消费环境、遗传因素、欲望的精确、客观、细致的描述来分析“美丽精确性”。 德莱赛通过科学客观的描写，不加入自己的道德评判，突出人物的生存意识和欲望本能，强调环境、遗传因素和欲望对人物的决定作用。然后，论文通过分析对照和象征两种写作技巧，进一步凸显“美丽精确性”。最后，总结得出通过“美丽精确性”写作风格的运用，彰显了《嘉莉妹妹》的主题，大工业时代下美国，对类似嘉莉妹妹这些下层人民的残忍以及美国梦的破灭。

Dreiser is an outstanding representative of American naturalism and his naturalism writing style creates a new era of American literary. Dreiser treats the objective truth as the best and supreme law in creativity, which reflects “beautiful precision” writing style. This paper mainly discusses Dreiser’s unique writing style “beautiful precision” from the view-point of naturalism in Sister Carrie.
This paper first analyzes Dreiser’s “beautiful precision” from the exact, accurate and detailed description of consumer environments, hereditary factors, and insatiable desires. Dreiser describes his view in a scientific and objective way, without the moral evaluation of his own. His works stress on the figures’ survival consciousness, desire and instinct, emphasize the decisive role of the environment hereditary factors and desires play on the characters. And then, the thesis further analyzes Dreiser’s “beautiful precision” from the writing techniques include contrast and symbolism. The themes of Sister Carrie that the cruelty to the lower people like Sister Carrie under the American industrialism times and the broken of American dream are highlighted with the application of contrast and symbolism.
