运用符号学分析法分析美国电影《紫色》

符号学，是关于符号如何传播的基础研究，同时也是对于每个符号系统运行规则的研究。它在媒介研究中是文本分析法里很重要的一个分析方法。作为对视觉形象分析的一种方法，符号学在揭示文本中隐藏的意义上有着重要作用。电影符号学，它是符号学研究的一个分支，是把电影作为一种特殊符号系统和表意现象进行研究，在分析电影上具有重要作用。
美国电影《紫色》是一部以黑人女性觉醒为题材的电影，电影中运用了大量具有隐藏性意义的符号来表达电影的主题。揭示这些符号的深层含义对于分析与鉴赏这部电影具有一定的辅助作用。
在以往的研究中，学者们主要是对小说文本和电影进行比较分析以及对电影中的人物形象、颜色进行剖析。无论是研究的目的和成果，都揭示了电影重要的主题。
本文在对以往研究成果认真分析的基础上，运用文本分析法中符号学分析法来分析美国电影《紫色》。文中陈述其他学者运用符号学分析法分析几部其他电影的研究，以及重点对构成电影《紫色》中的主要符号进行系统的分析，在分析中，就这些符号的表层和深层含义，特别是深层含义是如何彰显电影主题进行讨论。最后，对电影在符号学分析法下是如何彰显主题以及该分析法的意义作了总结。

Semiotics Study on the Movie The Color Purple
with Text Analysis Methods
Abstract: Semiotics is primarily the study of how signs communicate. It is also the study of the rules which regulate the operation of each system of signs. As a important analytical approach of textual analysis, semiotics analysis means a lot to media studies. It is an important analysis to crack open layers of meaning which reside in visual imagery. Semiotics of cinema refers to a kind of subject that takes the movie as a special sign system and the ideographic phenomenon. It is an important approach to analyze movie. 
   The Color Purple is the first U.S. black theme movie containing a lot of signs which have the connotative meaning to express the movie’s theme. To reveal the connotative level of signs will help for analyzing and appreciating the movie.
   Among many studies, scholars tend to make a comparison studies between the text and the movie, or analyze the characters and colors of the movie. And what the scholars have done has revealed that the theme of the The Color Purple is an important subject to this movie, and scholars have done many researches at this aspect. 
   This paper aims to use the textual analysis method--semiotics analysis to analyze the American movie The Color Purple based on the researches of scholars having done before. And Semiotics of cinema on several movies by other scholars will be presented also and the paper pays much attention to analyze the movie’s signs systematically. During the analyzing process, the author would like to discuss both the signs’ denotative and connotative meaning, especially the connotative level how to highlight the theme of the movie. Finally, it will conclude the signs of the movie how to highlight the theme under the help of semiotics analysis method and the significance of analyzing and appreciating movie by using semiotics analysis method.
