文化差异视角下英汉委婉语的比较研究

委婉语在我们使用汉语和英语的过程中是一种普遍的语言现象。但是，因为汉语和英语是属于两种不同的语言分类，还具有不同的文化传统和历史背景，因此它们中的委婉语不只有相同的特点，还呈现出它们自己的民族特色和文化内涵。作为一种重要的演讲和社交的手段，通过从文化视角下对英汉委婉语的表达和文化意义做对比研究，不仅有利于人们更加深入地了解文化内涵，还可以帮助人们顺利地进行跨文化交际。
本文分为五个部分，第一部分是对全文的概述，第二部分阐述了委婉语的定义和起源，了解这些委婉语的基本特征有利于我们更好地在跨文化交际中解读委婉语。第三部分从构成方式和生成原则这两方面对英汉委婉语的语言特色进行对比研究。第四部分是本文的核心部分，构建在中英文化差异的基础上，首先对英汉委婉语的交际功能进行对比研究，然后从宗教信仰、等级观念、传统与伦理、社会价值观、思维方式五个方面的文化差异来比较英汉委婉语以及分析其生成原因。最后的第五部分对全文做出总结，并指出这一语言现象对外语学习和实践应用所起到的指导作用。

A Comparative Study on English and Chinese Euphemism from the Perspective of Cultural Differences
Abstract：Euphemism is a common linguistic phenomenon in the use of Chinese and English. However, because Chinese and English belong to different language families with different cultural tradition and historical background, their euphemisms not only have many common characteristics, but also present their own national features and cultural connotations. As an important means of speech and social intercourse, it not only is useful for people to understand the cultural connotation deeply, but also can help people to conduct cross-culture communication smoothly through making a contrastive study of the expressions and cultural meanings of Chinese and English euphemisms from the cultural perspective.
This paper is divided into five parts, the first part of which is the overview of the paper. The second part describes the definition of euphemism and origins. Understanding the basic characteristics of the euphemism is good for us to read euphemism in cross-cultural communication better. The third part is from the structure perspective to make a comparative study on English and Chinese euphemism language features. The fourth part is the core part of this paper which is from the perspective of English and Chinese cultural differences. Firstly, it makes a comparative study on English and Chinese euphemism communicative function, and then from religious belief, social and family hierarchy, culture allusions, social value, national psychology these five aspects of the cultural differences between English and Chinese euphemism to compare and analyze its reasons for formation. The last part makes out a summary, and points out that the language has guidance in foreign language learning and practice.
