从《远大前程》看狄更斯的成长小说

《远大前程》是19 世纪伟大的批判现实主义大师狄更斯后期的代表作，诸多研究者将《远大前程》归于成长小说一类，但很少有研究者从这一角度做出详细阐述，故本文就从《远大前程》去研究狄更斯的成长小说。本文首先主要解释了作者写这篇论文的原因和结果。其次，对狄更斯及《远大前程》简要概述。主要包括狄更斯的生平，不同时期的作品以及从成长小说看《远大前程》。然后作者又对成长小说作一介绍。文章还对《远大前程》中所反映的狄更斯成长小说的特征作了探讨，主要从人物塑造， 叙述模式，主题以及领路人这四个方面分析。文章最后得出结论。本文从成长小说角度解读狄更斯的作品，以期更多研究者从成长小说这一视角去对狄更斯作品作更详细深入的研究。

A Study of Charles Dickens’ Bildungsroman in Great Expectations

Abstract

Charles Dickens is a master of critical realism in the history of English literature, and Great Expectations is one of his most popular novels which is written in his later years. Many critics have thought that Great Expectations is one of the Bildungsroman, but few have made a detailed study of the novel from this new point. This paper will have a study of Charles Dickens’ Bildungsroman from Great Expectations. Firstly, the author introduces the background of this thesis. Secondly, the author introduces Charles Dickens and his works, especially the Great Expectations from the Bildungsroman point. Thirdly, the thesis introduces Bildungsroman. Then, the author studies the major features of Charles Dickens’ Bildungsroman in Great Expectations. The author makes a deep analysis of four aspects: characterization, narrative structure, theme and guides. In the last part, the author makes a conclusion. This thesis analyzes Charles Dickens’ novels from a new perspective of Bildungsroman, in the hope that more critics make a detailed and deep study of Charles Dickens’ works from Bildungsroman perspective.
