外语教师发展实践共同体的个案研究


随着知识经济的到来和信息时代的发展,世界各国对外语教育的意义和价值取得了重要的共识。外语教育的目的不再是仅仅使学生能讲几句英语,能简单的和外国友人交流,而是为了人才的全面发展和素质的提高。不可否认,外语教育被推到了课程改革的前列。然而,目前,在这场教育改革大潮中,我国各高等院校外语教师发展仍存在一些不足之处,如受传统教育方法的影响,趋向重视应试教育等。从总体上来讲外语教学质量仍落后于形势发展。
本文主要从我国各高等院校外语教师发展现状入手,分析外语教师专业发展特点,从四个层面来研究我校外国语学院外语教师实践共同体的发展。第一个层面,工作场所下的外语教师发展,关于外语教师在教学实践中应如何角色扮演以及进行团队合作;第二个层面,新视野下的外语教师发展,关于如何进行外语教师的学科建设与学术合作;第三个层面,跨学科团队对话,关于全面反思当前外语学科的危机,通过学术创新如何开辟外语学科的新视野;第四个层面,面向多元化学科融合,关于进一步推进学科之间的对话,提升外语学科在东西方文化沟通中的人文精神,力图使每个教师通过学科融合获取多元的、跨学科的和有深度的研究方向。
本研究体现了我校外语教师发展过程与方向。外语教师将不仅作为语言工具的传授者,也必须成为语言研究领域的研究者。在学校上下大力提倡学科建设的背景下,外语教师的发展需要更加体现出跨学科,多样化,以全面提升教师的素养,提高教育教学质量。

A Case Study on Community of Practice of Foreign Language Teachers’ Development
Abstract:With the advent of knowledge economy and the development of information age, the significance and the value of foreign language education in all countries of the world has been achieved important consensus. The purpose of foreign language education is not only to teach the students have an ability of speaking English or communicating with foreign friends, but to promote their all-round development and improve their moral quality. It is admitted that foreign language education has been pushed to the forefront of the curriculum reform. However, at present, in the tide of education reform, there are still some shortcomings existing in the foreign language teachers’ development in college,such as the influence of traditional teaching methods, attaching great importance to the exam-oriented education, etc. Moreover, in general,the quality of foreign language teaching is still lagging behind.
This paper starts from the status quo of foreign language teachers’ development in college, and then analyses the features of foreign language teachers’ professional development. At last, this paper further discusses the community of practice of foreign language teachers’ development in China Jiliang University from four levels. The first level----foreign language teachers’ development in working situations, how the foreign language teachers transform their identity and cooperate in the team. The second level----foreign language teachers’ development in the new horizon, how to form discipline construction and academic cooperation. The third level----community dialogue across disciplines, how to develop the new horizon of disciplines through reflecting on the existing crisis. And the fourth level----convergence towards diversity, how to promote the eastern and western cultures.
This study reflects the procedures and orientation of foreign language teachers’ development. Foreign language teachers are not only the initiators, but the researchers in the language study field. Based on the discipline construction, foreign language teachers tend to be cross-discipline and diverse, which will result in improving teachers’ quality and education quality.
