分析《蝴蝶梦》中三个主女角的人物塑造对情节发展所起的推动作用

《蝴蝶梦》是达芙尼杜穆里埃的成名之作，同时也是现代哥特文学中的经典作品，其一经发行，便风靡全球。这部小说充满了悬念与神秘色彩：悬念的营造紧凑了故事的结构，而作者也正是在这种气氛中促进了故事的前进，使小说的发展更有爆发力。这篇论文着重研究作者对三个女主角的人物塑造与小说情节发展之间的关系：首先说明小说的发展是在连续不断的悬念中进行的，通过分析小说中对不同意象，环境的描写以及作者对三个女主角的人物塑造，挖掘出人物塑造的过程才是悬念的主要来源。在此基础上，重点分析她们各自的性格特点并说明三人正是在个性迥异的基础上进行互动，互动过程中产生悬念，进而相互影响并推动情节发展的。

The Analysis on Characterization of Three Women Motivating the Development of the Plot in Rebecca

Abstract

Rebecca is a classic of modern gothic literature by Daphne Du Maurier. It becomes very prevalent around the world after publication. This novel is full of suspense and mystery. The author makes full use of the feature to motivate the story under the dark atmosphere, which makes the story more compact and forceful. This paper focuses on the analysis of the relation between the characterization of three women (the heroine, Rebecca and Mrs. Danvers) and the development of the plot. At first, it is pointed out that the story evolves with every little suspense’s emergence. Through the analysis of the description of different images, environment and characterization, the paper presents us the process to characterize these three women, which is the main source of all suspense in the story. Then, by exploring these three women’s personality and how they are characterized, the paper finds out how they interact with each other and how they influence each other through their internal relationship, during which suspense is created, thus finally motivating the development of the plot.
