“功能对等理论”视角下英文电影片名汉译刍议

DISCUSSION ON CHINESE TRANSLATION OF ENGLISH MOVIE TITLE FROM THE ANGLE OF FUNCTIONAL EQUIVALENCE THEORY
    
    Abstract: With the rapid development of film industry and improvement of market degree, the English movie title translation has been flourishing in China. It presents a situation of tripartite confrontation in which the mainland , Hong Kong and Taiwan own their unique characteristics. However, various culture backgrounds lead to cultural barriers in cross-cultural communication. In order to make people from different language environments understand each other better, we need to search for effective translation methods. This paper aims to get better ways to translate English movie title in the guidance of Eugene A.Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory ,which has great impacts on translation.

 摘要：随着电影业的迅速发展和市场化程度的提高，英文电影名的翻译事业在国内繁荣发展。对英文电影名的翻译呈现出三足鼎立的状况，中国大陆、香港和澳门各有千秋。然而，受三地社会制度、经济制度和生活方式的差异，翻译中所传达的文化信息会出现误解，以致跨文化交际过程中的文化障碍。为了更好地实现不同文化之间的互相理解，我们需要寻求更有效的翻译方法。本文在尤金.奈达“功能对等理论”的指导下，通过对两岸三地英文电影片名翻译特点的比较，探究新的英文电影片名翻译方法。
