“垮掉的一代”及其对美国社会文化的影响

“垮掉的一代”是美国战后出现的一群反对主流文化的年轻人团体。二战之后，在美国的政治和经济背景下，“垮掉的一代”出现了。作为一种文化现象和青年人的写照，“垮掉的一代”打破了美国现有秩序的沉默。同时，他们仍旧继续用特殊的方式（沉溺，逃避，徘徊）反对战后的腐败、虚伪和心理压力，追求真正的自由。
本论文着力于“什么是垮掉的一代”和“美国20世纪60年代的文化情况是什么”，试图解释“垮掉的一代”的大体真实情况。论文的第一部分介绍了他们的大体情况，解释了垮掉的一代产生的背景和发展。第二部分介绍了“垮掉的一代”的影响，如对思想和文学方面的影响。之后介绍了60年代完全影响了美国社会的反正统文化运动。最后一部分总结了全文。本文的重点是研究“垮掉的一代”对美国社会文化的影响，借以帮助人们对现在的社会现状的思考。

The Beat Generation and Its Impact on American Culture

Abstract

The Beat Generation refers to a group of youth, appeared during the post-war period in the United States, who were against the mainstream culture. It came into being after World War II as a result of the political and economic background in America. As a culture phenomenon and a portrayal of the youth, the Beat Generation broke the silence of the exciting American order. Meanwhile, they explored continuous with such special ways as indulging, escape, wandering to oppose the postwar corruption, hypocrisy and mental pressure, in pursuit of true freedom.
The present focuses on such questions as “What is the Beat Generation?” and “What is the American culture situation in 1960s?”, trying to explain a general true fact of the Beat Generation. The first part is an introduction to the general situation of the Beat Generation, and it explains the background and the development of the Beat Generation. The second part discusses the impact of the Beat Generation, such as the influence on thought and literature. In further explains the counterculture movement in 1960s, which completely influenced the American society. The emphasis of the thesis is the influence of the Beat Generation on American society, hoping to give an insight to understand today’s American society.
