修辞在中文谚语英译中的应用

谚语是语言的精华，是民众的丰富智慧和普遍经验的规律性总结，它反映了一个国家的地理、历史、宗教等文化背景。中文谚语是汉语习语中的一个重要组成部分，是中国文化的一大瑰宝，它不仅数量和种类多、使用频率高，而且语言形象生动，意义深刻。
 随着中国文化走向世界，对于汉语中各种习语的翻译也显得越来越重要，在翻译文章中的一些谚语的时候，译者要了解中英文化的差异，中英谚语本身的特点以及中英两国的文化背景。中英谚语博大精深，随着文化的交融，人们往往分不清一些谚语的起源，因此本文试图通过研究中英谚语的特点，从它们中的共同点和不同点来分析，以此加深对中英谚语的了解。重点在于通过探讨中文谚语中的经典谚语，研究修辞在中文谚语英译中的应用。通过这篇文章，人们可以更加了解中国的谚语以及修辞在谚语翻译中的应用，从而使中文谚语得到更准确、更形象的表述，以便英语国家的人更深刻地了解中国语言的魅力。

The Rhetoric Used in the Translation of
Proverbs from Chinese to English
Abstract
Proverbs are the essence of language，they are the summary of the masses’ wisdom and experiences. They reflect the environment of geography, historical background, the customs and the religious faith of a country. The Chinese proverbs are important parts of Chinese idioms and are one of the treasures of the Chinese culture. They are not only numerous and varied, but also profound and vivid.
Along with the spreading of Chinese culture into the world, the translation of idioms from Chinese to English is becoming increasingly important. When translating those Chinese proverbs into English, translators should not only be familiar with the differences between China and English countries, but understand the characteristics of Chinese and English proverbs as well as their unique cultural backgrounds. Chinese and English proverbs are extensive and profound. With the cultural blending, some people can’t distinguish the origin of some proverbs, so they made some mistakes in translation. This paper is trying to analyze the characteristics of proverbs between Chinese and English and analysis their common similarities and differences in order to deepen the understanding of Chinese and English proverbs, but the author focuses on the application of the rhetorical devices used in the translation of proverbs from Chinese to English by studying some classic Chinese proverbs. Through this paper people can understand more about the Chinese proverbs and the rhetorical devices used in the translation of proverbs from Chinese to English, so that the Chinese proverbs can be expressed more accurately and vividly. In this way, people in English countries can get to know the charm of Chinese language.
