从功能对等角度分析电影《阿凡达》的字幕翻译

    当前随着全球化进程的加快和大众传媒的发展，不同国家间的文化交流变得日益广泛和深入，影视作品作为当代文化交流传播的载体之一，其在文化等领域的交流方面扮演着日益重要的角色，与之相应，字幕译制也越受到人们的关注，在此领域，西方影视理论研究已相对成熟，与之相比，我国则相对不足。
作为现今新兴的翻译研究领域，影视翻译历属于文学翻译的一个分支，因其瞬间性、通俗性的字幕翻译特点而极大增加了译者翻译的难度。本论文从功能对等角度出发，通过对理论的阐释说明以及对现今国内外字幕翻译现状的研究，探讨可适用于电影字幕翻译活动的策略、原则。论文选用电影阿凡达中的中英文字幕作为研究对象，通过研究、分析，论证在电影翻译领域，功能对等理论在其的适用性。

A Study on Subtitle Translation of Avatar
Based on Functional Equivalence

Abstract
Wit the increasingly fast pace of globalization and great development of mass media, the cultural exchange among different countries has become ever wider and extensive. In term of communication and exchange, the importance of films have gradually emerged and developed and many scholars and experts have given great attention to the relevant translation both at home and abroad. In this specific field, relatively mature and comprehensive theories and studies have formed and developed in the west, on the contrary, in china, it is underdeveloped
 Subtitle translation of films serves a new studying field of translation; it falls into a branch of literary translation, owing to its special feature such as instantaneous, popularity, etc, which add weight to the difficulty of translators’ subtitle translation. Based on the functional equivalence, this thesis try to figure out the principles and strategies that could be used in the subtitle translation of film，after conducting analysis and elaborating on the functional equivalence theory as well as the concrete and specific studies on the status quota  and the current situation of subtitle translation both at home and abroad. In the end, to further illustrates the possibility of the theory of functional equivalence in the film subtitle translation, the thesis chooses the film Avatar’s subtitle translation as the subject
