Marriage custom is an important part of national culture, which reflects the distinctive cultural feature. There are great differences between Chinese and Western marriage customs in the aspects of marriage procedure, wedding clothing, marriage media and marriage purpose. However, in the period of economic globalization and reform, with the integration of Chinese marriage customs and western ones, more and more people in western countries like to hold Chinese weddings. It is beneficial to enhance communication between China and other nations and learn foreign advanced culture by exploring the differences of marriage customs between China and western countries. This article studies on Chinese and Western marriage customs from four aspects which are marriage procedure, wedding clothing, marriage media and marriage purpose and inquires into the different folk-customs in different cultures.

摘要： 婚俗文化是民族文化的一个重要组成部分，体现出鲜明的民族文化特点。中西婚俗文化在婚俗程序、婚服、婚俗媒介和婚姻目的等方面存在着很大的差异。但在经济全球化和改革开放的时期，中国婚俗也融入了西方婚俗的特点，西方国家也越来越多的人喜欢举办中式婚礼。研究中西方婚俗差异有利于增进中国文化和世界文化的交流，了解和学习外国的先进文化。本篇文章通过婚俗程序、婚服、婚俗媒介和婚姻目的四个方面对中西婚俗文化进行比较和研究，探讨中西不同文化背景的民俗差异。
