从古至今,爱美之心,人皆有之,而女性尤为甚之。她们愿意使用化妆品是自己看起来更加年轻,更加漂亮。据统计,外国品牌的化妆品在中国市场占有很大的市场份额。随着越来越多的外国化妆品登陆中国市场,化妆品说明书的翻译显得日趋重要。翻译国外护肤品时,一个好的产品说明书的译文会给企业带来成功;而一个糟糕的译文也许会给企业带来巨大的经济损失。这就要求说明书本身具有吸引力。本文旨接受美学理论的基础上,提出了化妆品说明书翻译的原则和方法,帮助中国消费者更好地理解和接受外国化妆品,同时也帮助翻译者抓住消费者的注意力,促使她们购买。

On the Reception Aesthetic and the Translation of Cosmetic Instruction

Abstract

From ancient time, love of beauty is human nature, especially for women. They prefer to use cosmetics to make themselves younger and more beautiful. According to the statistics, foreign-brand cosmetics have a large share of the market in China. As more and more foreign cosmetics hit the Chinese market, the translation of cosmetic instructions turns out to be increasingly important. When the foreign cosmetic instructions are translated, a good translation will definitely bring the company success, otherwise a bad one will lead to a great economic loss. Thus it requires instruction itself to be attractive. This paper, based on the reception aesthetic, puts forward the principles and methods in translating of cosmetic instructions. This paper aims to help Chinese customers understand and accept foreign cosmetics, and it may also help translators catch the consumers’ attention, and then promote them to make a purchase.
