浅析《黛茜•米勒》中的文化冲突

该论文集中分析了《黛茜•米勒》一书中的文化冲突。书中出现的人物可以分为两类：美国人和欧化的美国人。文化冲突就发生在这两群人中。两类人的文化冲突可以体现在两个方面：文化背景上的冲突和价值观上的冲突。文化背景上的冲突可以体现为人物出场地点上的不同，背后城市文化的不同和美国与欧洲历史背景的不同。价值观上的不同可以体现为两类人群对社会等级、女性地位和欧洲文化上所持的不同态度。
为了更好的支撑这一主题，该论文分为五大部分：第一部分对亨利•詹姆斯和《黛茜•米勒》做一简介；第二部分集中分析小说中的背景冲突；第三部分主要分析两类人的价值观冲突；第四部分主要介绍亨利•詹姆斯对文化冲突的看法；第五部分为结论，重申主题。

Abstract
This present paper concentrates on an analysis of the culture conflicts in the novella Daisy Miller. It can be divided into two groups of roles that appear in this novella: Americans and Europeanized Americans. The conflicts happen between these two groups and can be embodied by two aspects: the difference of settings, such as the roles’ emerging spots, the offstage cities and historical backgrounds; and the different values held by two groups of people on hierarchy，womanhood and European civilization.
To support the thesis, the paper is divided into five parts. The first part gives a brief introduction to both the author and the novella. The second part makes an analysis of the difference of settings in the novella. The third part makes an analysis of the difference of values held by two group of people. The fourth part tells the author’s point on the culture conflicts. The fifth part is the conclusion, restating the thesis of the paper.
