《嘉莉妹妹》主人公价值观之探究《嘉莉妹妹》是美国资本主义城市生活的一面镜子，勾勒出人类历史进程中消费的一幅幅精彩的画面，对于经济高速发展的现代有很大的启迪作用。通过对主人公的价值观以及结局分析，论文试图阐明：追求理想时，我们要的不仅仅是物质生理上的满足，还应该有感情上的尊重。
论文总共分为五部分：第一章主要为介绍小说背景,第二章分析《嘉莉妹妹》中主人公的人物，第三章主要分析主人价值追求，第四章主要分析主人公的结局以及造成该种结局的原因，第五章为总结。

A Study of the Characters’ Values Reflected in Sister Carrie
Abstract:Sister Carrie is a mirror of American capitalist city life. It has drawn wonderful picture of consumption in the process of human history and made great contribution to the high-speed developing economy. Through the analysis of the main characters’ values and the causes of their endings, this thesis is to clarify: when we pursue of our ideal, we need not only the satisfaction of material and physiology, but also the respect on the susceptibility.
This thesis is made up of five parts: the first chapter gives a brief introduction of the background of Sister Carrie. The second part makes some analysis on the characters, including the characters’ family background and society background. The third part makes analysis on the values of the characters.The forth part will give the causes of the characters’ endings. Finally, we make a conclusion to summarize.
