源于《圣经》的英语习语及用法分析

 基督教是英语国家的主要宗教，而《圣经》是基督教的经典，对西方各国的语言和文化艺术都产生过巨大的影响。作为语言重要组成部分的习语更是直接或间接地来自于《圣经》。因此，圣经习语是帮助我们学习英语和了解西方文化的一扇窗户。
本文介绍了源于《圣经》的一些习语及其特点，并就这些习语进行分类，其次，主要从意义、场合及效果三方面就当前圣经习语的使用情况进行了分析。之后，通过举例的方法，就一些典型习语进行了解析，既具有针对性又增加了文章的趣味性。在此基础上，阐释了圣经习语正用和误用的原因。最后给出建议, 以便今后避免错误，从而准确地使用圣经习语。

Abstract

Christianity is the dominant religion in English speaking countries, and the Holy Bible is the Christian classic scripture, which has great impact upon western countries on language development, literature and arts. As one of the most important parts of language, idioms owe a lot to the Bible, for many English idioms come from it directly or indirectly. Therefore, having a good command of biblical idioms is a key to learn more about western culture.
 This thesis is divided into four parts: the first part introduces some biblical idioms and their salient features and category; the second part expounds the significance, occasions and effect of applying biblical idioms; the third part analyzes the reasons for properly used and misused idioms; the last part elaborates proposals for avoiding mistakes and using idioms correctly. The author hopes that there would be more research and concern about biblical idioms and their practical use.
