地方名胜古迹汉译英评析

Abstract：The present paper aims to explore the activity of translating scenic spots and historical sites in Hunan Province into English within the framework of Skopos theory, with special reference to three major kinds of improper translations and some methods to improve the translations. First, the basic principles of the skopos theory are outlined, followed by a discussion of their application in translating tourism materials. An attempt is then made to analyze three types of translation errors prevalent in English translations of tourism materials.Then this paper will analyse some examples of improper translation in language domain, caused by lack of cross-cultural or background information. The paper concludes with some suggestions to solve these problems.

摘 要：本文主要是在目的论的指导下研究湖南地区名胜古迹翻译，重点研究三种主要的翻译失误,并且提出一些翻译方法来改善这些译文。文章首先介绍目的论及它在旅游翻译中的运用。然后探讨旅游英语中三种常见误译，即语言错误,由于缺少跨文化交际或文化背景知识所导致的错误，并给出实际例句，分析其翻译不足之处，最后针对这些误译提出解决方案。
