文化背景对翻译的影响--以苔丝的两个中文译本为例

    传统上，翻译活动一直被看作是两种语言之间的转换过程，因而
翻译研究一直以语言分析和文本的对照为主要任务。而现在不少学者
认为:把翻译看成是两种文化之间的一种交流活动更为确切。把翻译置于译者的文化背景下考察，不难发现，文化对翻译过程的影响无时不在，译者在翻译过程中所做出的选择都是特定时空下文化制约的结果。任何译者都不是独立于特定的文化背景而存在的，对影响和制约译者在翻译过程中做出各种选择的文化因素进行系统地研究和总结，对于揭示翻译活动的规律和丰富翻译理论有着非常重要的意义。本文正是基于这个视角，探讨文学翻译作品中译者的文化背景因素对其在翻译策略以及方言翻译上的影响。

ABSTRACT

In the traditional view, translation is regarded as a conversion  between two languages.Therefore,language analysis and context comparison have been the main tasks of translation study in the past few years. Nowadays many translators consider translation to be ,more precicely,a process of choices and decisions.Cultural background,which effects tranlation dramaticly ,has been branded on the ranslator's brain. Therefore, the recognition and a systematic study of the cultural factors that influence the translator's choices in the process of translation is significant . The essay, from the viewpoint of cultural translation, tries to identify culture backgrounds and to make a convincing description of them, and tries to illustrate in what way these factors determine translatinon strategies and dialect translation in the literary translation.
