从文化差异看英汉互译中的不可译性

翻译是一种跨文化交际，是原语与译语之间文化交流上的桥梁。原语与译语就其意义和风格而言只能做到相对的对等，而无法做到绝对的等值。在英汉互译的过程中，由于中西在文化上的差异，导致了不可译现象。文化差异的不可译性主要体现在：地域差异，思维方式差异，宗教文化上的差异，习语差异，风俗习惯差异，语意差异以及词汇的空缺。本文对此进行分析，并尝试讨论在英汉互译实践中不可译现象的转化策略。

ABSTRACT

Translation is a kind of intercultural communication, which builds a bridge between source language and target language. Source language can only be closest to target language rather than be absolutely equal to it, in the respect of its meaning and style. In the process of English-Chinese intertranslation, there is untranslatability due to Chinese and Western cultural differences. Untranslatability of language mainly refers to such aspects as the differences in regional culture, mode of thinking, religious, customs, literary quotation, semantic association, and zero of equivalent word. This paper analyses these factors and discuss the strategies to solve the problems.
