《草叶集》中“草叶”意蕴之探讨

沃尔特•惠特曼是美国文学史上一位伟大的文学巨匠，他的诗歌全部收录在《草叶集》中。在这部诗集中诗人倾注了全部精力，欲建立美国独特的民族文学，弘扬属于美国的民族文化。他为美国诗坛的发展吹来了一股清凉之风，也让十九世纪美国诗歌在世界诗坛的发展中占有一席之地。
“草叶”是惠特曼在特定的文化中创造出的特定意象，本文主要讨论“草叶”在《草叶集》中的意义，分别为：野草，惠特曼自指，普通民众，美国，自由和民主。本文分为三个部分，将从五个方面对“草叶”的意义进行阐述。第一部分是对惠特曼和他的《草叶集》进行的简短的介绍；第二部分从五个方面分别分析“草叶”的本意及其象征意义；第三部分是对全文的总结。

Abstract
Walt Whitman was a great poet in American literary history, and all his poems were collected in Leaves of Grass. Whitman devoted all his energy in his poems, he wanted to create the unique ethnic literature and carry forward the national culture of America.Whitman brought a strands of cool wind blowing for the development of American poetry and made American poetry occupy a place in the development of world poetry.
“Grass” is a specific image created in specific culture by Walt Whitman, and this article will mainly discuss the symbolic meanings of “Grass” in Leaves of Grass. They are wild grass, Whitman himself, the ordinary people, America, freedom and democracy. This article is divided into three parts, and it will state the meanings of “Grass” in five aspects. The first part is a brief introduction of Whitman and his Leaves of Grass. The second part mainly discuss the originally meaning and symbolic meanings of “Grass”. And the last part is the conclusion of this article.
