中英文颜色词的对比分析

Color is a visual phenomenon we start to cognize since childhood. It has derived many connotative meanings along with the development of human civilizations. This article aims to probe into and analyze the differences between Chinese and English color words. First, it gives the definition of color words and shows the importance of the analysis in the exchange between Chinese and English  in color words; second, it makes a brief comparison of some typical cultural lorded color words expressions between English and Chinese; third, it makes an analysis of the reasons for different culture connotation between English-Chinese color words in five aspects:  natural environments and historical backgrounds, literatures and arts, political backgrounds and religious beliefs；finally, it ends up with a conclusion that the colors are closely connected to human life and have not only physical natures but also rich cultural connotations.

摘要

色彩是我们年幼时就开始认知的视觉现象，随着人类文明的发展色彩还衍生出了很多隐含意义。本文旨在探求与分析中英颜色词不同。首先，文章给出颜色词的定义以及分析中英颜色词中文化差异的重要性；其次，对中英语言中基本颜色词的意义做了一个简单的对比；接着，就自然环境与历史背景，文学与艺术，政治背景与宗教信仰五个方面分析了中英颜色词不同文化内涵的原因；最后指出中颜色不仅有其物理本质更赋有丰富的文化内涵，与人类的生活有着密切的联系。
