中美家庭教育比较研究

Family education is an important kind of education, compared with other forms like school education or even social education. Along with the globalization,  diversified though social cultures are, human civilization has become more and more convergent. That means a culture or education style from a western country tends to influence that of eastern’s, vice versa.In this thesis, the author will take the USA and China for instance, comparing their features of education in families. What’s more, to find a better way of education and absorb advanced American education ways to cultivate the next generation , the thesis will discover the different features between the USA and China in family education and give some advice at the end.
By comparison, there are three major objects. To begin with,to explore the differences in aspects of notion, aim, method, content of education. Chinese parents like to cultivate their children by various kinds of studying or exercise to a celebrity, they also want children to follow their commands and be a traditionally good guy in character and morals. While an American parent would like to train their capabilities of living independently and let them master the ways of adapting into society. In content of education, Chinese parents will pay more attention on children’s scores in exams and want them to get a higher degree. While an American parent would like to cultivate their ability to survive, creativity and practice in society. In aspect of methods, Chinese parents would take a style of guard and worship patriarchism to regulate children, but American family would take democratic one which means they are equal to their children. Further more, to find the reasons and influence of these differences. Such as cultural backgrounds, social conditions, historical difference and economic and social patterns. The last but not the least, on the basis of the analysis of differences between the two countries, the author will give some suggestions to China education in the future for prosperity, absorbing the merits from American family education to cultivate the next generation in a better way.

摘  要
在与其它的教育方式如学校教育或社会教育比较时,家庭教育就显得尤为重要了。随着全球化的进步,尽管社会文化是多样的，人类文明却愈发趋同。这就意味着西方国家的文化或教育方式会影响到东方国家的,反之亦然。在此篇论文中,作者用美国和中国作为例子,比较两国在教育中的不同特点。并在比较后找出一种更好的教育方式。吸取美国教育的优点培养祖国的下一代。此篇论文会阐明中美教育的不同并在末尾给出一些建议。
    通过比较,有三点需要阐述说明。首先要找出在教育中概念、目标、方式、内容上的不同。中国家长愿意通过学习和锻炼去培养出一个成功的人,他们想让自己的孩子们听话成为传统意义上品德具备的人。但美国的家长会锻炼他们孩子独立生活的能力,让孩子们掌握适应社会生活的方法。在教育的内容方面,中国的家长会更多地关注孩子的学业成绩,想让他们拿到一个更高的学位。而美国家长会想培养他们的生存能力、创造能力和社会实践能力。在教育方法中,中国家长会采取保护主义,崇尚家长统治去更好地管控孩子,而美国的家庭会采取民主的方式,这意味着父母和孩子都是平等的。第二是要找出这些不同的原因和影响。例如文化背景,社会条件,历史的不同和经济以及社会模式的不同。最后在基于两国教育的不同上进行分析,作者会提供给中国未来教育一些有用的建议。为了中国的繁荣,需要吸取美国家庭教育中的优良点去更好地培育下一代。
