傲慢与偏见--人性的镜子
Pride and Prejudice is one of the famous works of Jane Austen. It mainly writes about the love stories of several young couples. To some extent, the points in novel reflect the Austen’s views of marriage. Deeply influenced by the social background and religion, many people would like to write an essay based on the marriage of Elizabeth or the pursuit of female power. However, this paper tries to find out the advantages and disadvantages of human nature through the analysis of figures’ characteristics and the detailed descriptions in Pride and Prejudice, so as to further explore the negative impact of the weaknesses of human nature on society.
In Chapter One, the essay introduces the life story and representative works of Jane Austen and then introduces the writing background and main content of Pride and Prejudice. In Chapter Two, firstly, it introduces the definition of human nature; secondly, it analyzes the virtues of human nature, such as love, kindness, bravery and determination; thirdly, it analyzes the weaknesses of human nature, such as pride, prejudice, dishonesty, misunderstanding, materialism and sensualism; finally, it discusses the reasons that result in the weaknesses of human nature based on Pride and Prejudice, for example, the influence of social background, the influence of family education and the influence of religion. In Chapter Three, it analyzes the practical significance of human nature mainly from two parts: the first part is the harmful effects of the weaknesses of human nature in today’s society. For example, hypocrisy and deception lead to the deficiency of social integrity; the pursuit of materialism causes corruption and high crime rates; sensualism makes people licentious; pride leads to the indifference of the public and prejudice results the online violence. Therefore, the second part is the ways to overcome the weaknesses of human nature. For instance, people can not only monitor the negative impact of the weaknesses of human nature on society by establishing effective feedback mechanisms but also increase public participation and responsibility through the broadcast of media and Internet.

摘 要
《傲慢与偏见》是简•奥斯汀的代表作，主要描述了几对青年人的爱情故事。书中的很多观点反映出了奥斯汀本人对婚姻的看法。受当时社会环境和宗教的影响，伊丽莎白的婚姻和对女权主义的追求一直是广大文学爱好者研究的重点。而本文试图通过对《傲慢与偏见》中人物性格特点及人物细节描写的赏析，发现人性的优点和缺点，从而进一步探究人性的缺点给社会带来的消极影响。
本文第一章介绍了简·奥斯汀的生平和代表作以及《傲慢与偏见》的写作背景和主要内容。第二章首先介绍了人性的定义；其次分析了人性的美德，如爱、善良、勇敢和坚毅；然后分析了人性的弱点，如傲慢、偏见、不诚实、误解、物质主义和色欲主义；最后以《傲慢与偏见》为基础，从社会背景的影响、家庭教育的影响、宗教的影响等方面深入探讨了人性弱点产生的原因。第三章主要从两个方面分析了人性的现实意义：第一部分是人性的弱点对当今社会的消极影响，例如虚伪和欺骗导致社会诚信的缺失；对物质主义的追求造成了贪污腐败和高犯罪率；色欲主义使人们变得放荡轻浮；傲慢导致了社会的冷漠；偏见造成了网络暴力的恶果。因此，第二部分则是克服人性弱点的途径，例如人们可以通过建立有效的反馈机制来监测人性的弱点对社会的消极影响，还可以通过网络和媒体的宣传增加公众的参与度和责任感。
