基于评价理论对中美领导人新年致辞中形容词的研究

近年来大量对评价理论的研究，使其理论系统日趋成熟和完善。日前，基于评价理论研究的语料基本上是动词、代词研究，而对形容词做分析的却很少。本文运用评价系统理论的三大系统：态度、介入和级差的研究，对中美两国领导人发表新年致辞进行分析，试图找出中美两国在评价资源的运用中有何异同以及评价资源是如何实现演讲语篇的人际意义的，从而进一步通过致辞中的评价性形容词来了解当前国情的相关信息，领导人的态度观点，与公众的关系等。分析发现，在新年致辞中，二者运用积极性形容词较多，静态形容词和性质形容词多于动态和关系形容词，双方领导人都向公众表达诚挚的问候以及美好未来的蓝图。

A Study on the Adjectives in Chinese and American Presidents’ New Year Speeches Based on Appraisal Theory
Abstract
In recent years, there has been a body of the researches on Appraisal Theory, which has developed into a relatively mature frame. At present, the corpora of Appraisal Theory’s studies are mostly analysis of verbs or pronouns, only a few of which are on adjectives. The paper employs three systems of Appraisal Theory: Attitude, Engagement and Graduation to analyze different adjectives in New Year speeches delivered respectively by the Chinese presidents and the American presidents. All those speeches aim to communicate messages related to the country’s present state, to show their attitude and consolidate their relationship with the public.
