从社会符号学角度论《红高粱家族》葛浩文译本中对话的翻译

莫言是第一个获得诺贝尔文学奖的中国人，《红高粱家族》是他的代表作之一。红高粱能够风靡世界，作品唯一的英文译者葛浩文发挥了重要的作用。
《红高粱家族》中的人物对话具有浓厚的乡土气息，蕴含着中国的民间传统文化。本文将从社会符号学的角度着手，以意义相符，功能相近的翻译标准为指导来研究葛浩文在《红高粱家族》中的对话翻译。为了更为系统地探索其对话语言的符号意义的传译与表达，本文将分别从指称意义、言内意义以及语用意义三个方面进行具体分析。
通过对葛浩文译本中符号意义传译的具体研究，可以发现总体而言，葛浩文通过不同的翻译方法和技巧，成功地重现了原著对话中的三种意义，达到了意义相符、功能相近的翻译标准。

Sociosemiotic Study of Howard Goldblatt’s Translation of Dialogues in Red Sorghum
Abstract
 Red sorghum is one of the masterpieces of Mo Yan, the first Chinese to win the Nobel Prize in literature. In the process of introducing Red Sorghum to the world, Goldblatt, the exclusive English translator of Mo Yan’s works, plays a remarkable role.
 Red Sorghum is featured with the character dialogues, which have a strong local feature rich in Chinese traditional folk culture. This thesis aims to use sociosemiotics, the criterion of which highlights correspondence in meaning, and similarity in function, to examine Goldblatt’s translation of dialogues in Red Sorghum. In order to systematically explore the strength and weakness in the transference of meaning, this paper studies Goldblatt’s dialogue translation in Red Sorghum from three main aspects: referential meaning, linguistic meaning, and pragmatic meaning.
Through analyzing Goldblatt’s translation of the three semiotic meanings, this thesis finally comes to the conclusion that by and large, Goldblatt succeeds in reproducing the three meanings of character dialogues in Red Sorghum, by the use of different translation methods and techniques, thus meeting the sociosemiotic translation criterion on the whole.
