托尼·莫里森：美国社会发展变迁的一面明镜

 作为黑人文学的领军人物，托尼·莫里森以及她的作品很大程度、很大范围地反映了非裔美国人、尤其是非裔美国女性的历史。本文从其著作《秀拉》和《宠儿》出发，通过分析秀拉在女权运动中的新女性形象、塞丝在黑奴制度盛行的年代里所做出的反抗和斗争，研究小说里所反映的社会状况，探讨美国社会的变化和发展，并联系托尼·莫里森的创作背景，即女权运动和黑人平权运动，讨论托尼·莫里森是怎样以一面镜子的形式反映了美国社会的变化和发展。

Abstract

As a leading figure of the African American Renaissance, Toni Morrison and her works largely reflect the history of African Americans, especially Afro-American women. This paper, based on her masterpieces Sula and Beloved, firstly takes an exploration of the two heroines Sula and Sethe, analyzing Sula’s “New Women” image and Sethe’s revolts against slavery. Then a discussion is made on the conditions reflected in the novels. To explain how Morrison’s works reflect the changes and developments in American society, this paper also probes Morrison’s creating background—Feminism Waves and the Civil Rights Movements.
