论奥尼尔《毛猿》中杨克悲剧人生的成因On the Causes of Yank's Tragic Life in O'Neill's Hairy Ape
Abstract
The trend of expressionist literary thought was introduced into the United States during the beginning of 20th century, which made great achievements in theatre. As a representative writer of American expressionism, Eugene O’Neill established the style of American expressionist drama with his unique theatrical concept. A group of scholars have focused on the expressionist methods that O'Neill adopted, the author uses expressionist methods to expose the disadvantages of modern capitalist society and the identity crisis of modern people. The aim of this paper is to reveal that the root of human tragedy lies in the fact that it can not clearly understand itself and refuses to face up to reality through the excavation and analysis of the social status of protagonists, so as to hope that readers can learn from the tragedy of Yank’s life and find the meaning of their own existence.

摘 要
表现主义文学思潮在20世纪初传入美国，其在戏剧方面取得巨大成就，而作为美国表现主义的代表作家，尤金奥尼尔以他独特的戏剧理念确立了美国表现主义戏剧的风格。大部分学者都把重点放在奥尼尔采用的表现主义手法上，作者多用表现主义方法揭露现代资本主义社会弊端和现代人的身份危机。本文的目的是通过对主人公社会现状的挖掘和分析，揭示出人类悲剧的根源往往在于其不能清楚地认识自己，并拒绝正视现实，从而希望读者从扬克的人生悲剧中吸取教训，找到自身存在的意义。
