功能理论视角下的惊奇电影字幕汉译研究Research on Chinese Translation of Marvel Film Subtitles From the Perspective of Functional Theory
Abstract
In the morden world, Sino-Western cultural exchanges are frequent and prosperous. Marvel films are loved by the Chinese audience for their enjoyable, entertaining and exotic features, and become a mirror for Chinese audiences to pry into foreign cultures. Movie subtitle translation enables Chinese audiences to accurately understand what’s the meaning of foreign language movies in the Chinese context, so it plays a decisive role in the film appreciation process. Marvel Film combines sci-fi, action, adventure, humor and other powerful casts, allowing many Marvel fans to experience an extraordinary visual feast. However, when the film was released in China, its subtitle translation caused controversy among netizens and scholars. The study altogether divides into four parts. The first part mainly introduces the presentation of the questions and the background of thesis writing, including the research background, research content and its significance, and the main structure of the paper. Hollywood movies account for half of the Chinese film market, and the quality Of subtitle translation directly influences whether audiences choose to enter the theater to contribute to the box office. It is of great significance to discuss the quality of film subtitle translation from both the perspective of cultural communication and economics. The second chapter is the theory emphasized that the response of the target text audience to the translated text is similar to the response of the source audience to the source text. If it is difficult to convey the content of the source text in the specific translation, the function of the language expression can be adapted changed with the situation. The function of the translated text is consistent with the function of the source text. The main function of the subtitles of the film is to convey the the main plot of the movie to the audience. It is hoped that the viewers can accurately understand the movie and get a similar experience and reaction with the source audience. The third chapter starts from the example, taking the subtitles of Marvel movies as an example to the papers of the subtitle translation of Marvel movies. The last chapter summarizes the guiding significance of functional theory to the translation of subtitle, and hopes to contribute its own onto the subtitle translation industry. It appeals to more scholars to pay attention to the field of subtitle translation and promote the standardization of subtitle translation. In order to better promote the communication and development of Chinese and western culture,through film and television works.

当今世界，中西方之间的文化交流频繁且繁荣。漫威电影深受中国观众的喜爱，因为其令人愉快、有趣和异国情调的特点，成为中国观众窥探外国文化的一面镜子。电影字幕翻译能让中国观众准确理解外语电影在中文语境中的意义。所以它在电影欣赏过程中起着决定性的作用。漫威电影结合了科幻、动作、冒险、幽默与其他强大的演员阵容让许多漫威粉丝体验了一场非凡的视觉盛宴。然而，当这部电影在中国上映时其字幕翻译引起了网民和学者的争议。本研究共分为四个部分。第一部分主要介绍论文写作提岀及背景，其中包括研究背景、研究内容。研究意义，以及论文的主要结构。好莱坞电影占据了中国电影市场的半壁江山，字幕翻译的质量直接影响着观众是否选择进入影院为票房做岀贡献。无论是从文化的传播角度还是从经济学角度探讨电影字幕翻译的好坏都具有重要的意义。第二章是理论分析，强调译文受众对译文的反应与原文受众对原文的反应是相似的。如果在具体的翻译中难以传达原文的内容，语言表达的功能可以使翻译随情况的变化而变化。译文的功能与原语的用途是一致的。电影字幕的主要功能是将电影的主要情节传达给观众。希望观众能准确地理解这部电影,并与原语观众有类似的体验和反应。第三章从实例入手，以漫威电影的字幕为例，对漫威电影的字幕翻译进行研究。第四章总结了功能理论对字幕翻译的指导意义，并且希望能为字幕翻译行业做出自己的贡献。以此呼吁更多的学者关注字幕翻译领域,促进字幕翻译的规范化。通过电影等影视作品，更好的促进中西方文化的交流和发展。
