《爱玛》的婚恋观研究

Abstract
    Emma is one the most mature works of Jane Austen— a famous English novelist. Emma is a novel about marriage, and the author showed her views of marriage through several marriage relationships. Austen used her familiar rural life as the background, described British people’s lives and feelings at beginning of the nineteenth century. The novel mainly tells the story of a few emotional affairs of heroine Emma Woodhouse and Mr. Knightly, Frank Churchill and Jane Fairfax, Mr. Elton and Miss Smith.
This paper is composed of the introduction, the main body and the conclusion. The first chapter is the Jane Austen’s view of love and marriage in Emma. It recommends both the foundation of love and marriage and the requirements of a perfect marriage. At the same time, it introduces the main content of the novel. Chapter two introduces two different characters’ views of love and marriage in Emma. It introduces Emma’s view of love and her love with Mr. Knightly. Meanwhile, Harriet smith’s views on love and marriage, Mr. Elton’s marriage values, and Frank Churchill and Fairfax’s secret love have been mentioned in this chapter. Chapter three analyzes the cause of protagonist’s view of marriage, including the perspective of social and family and personal reasons. Chapter four summarizes the revelation from views of marriage in Emma, such as, healthy views of marriage in modern society and how to balance between the ideal and reality.
This paper explores Jane Austen’s view of love and marriage through several emotional affairs. The concept of “be matched for marriage” is full of the novel. This is also the character of that era. Austen doesn’t think that marriage is only based on love; instead, marriage is established on the basis of moral foundation and economic security.

摘  要
《爱玛》是英国著名小说家简·奥斯汀最成熟的一部作品。《爱玛》是关于婚姻的小说，作者通过其中几对婚姻关系表明了她的婚姻观。奥斯汀以自己熟悉的乡村生活为背景，描述了19世纪初期英国农村各个阶级人民的生活和情感。小说主要讲述了女主人公爱玛伍德豪斯与奈特利先生、弗兰克丘吉尔与简费尔法克斯、埃尔顿先生、史密斯小姐的几段情感纠纷。
本文由引言、正文和结论组成。第一章为作者简奥斯汀在《爱玛》一书中的爱情观，分别介绍了作者认为的爱与婚姻的基础和完美婚姻的必要条件，同时介绍了《爱玛》这部小说所讲述的主要内容。第二章介绍了作品中不同两类人对爱情和婚姻的想法。包括了介绍爱玛的爱情观以及她与奈特利先生的爱情，还有哈里特史密斯的爱情观与婚姻、埃尔顿先生的婚姻价值观、弗兰克丘吉尔与简费尔法克斯的地下恋情。第三章则从社会和家庭以及个人的角度分析了书中主人公形成爱情观的原因。第四章总结了从《爱玛》一书当中所获得的启示，例如现代社会中对婚姻的正确认识和如何平衡理想与现实。
本文通过小说中的几段感情纠纷来探究简奥斯汀的爱情观。书中处处充满着“门当户对”的观念。这也是那个时代的特征。奥斯汀并不认为婚姻的基础仅仅是爱情，而婚姻是在良好的道德基础和牢靠的经济保障上建立起来的。
