中美面子观差异对跨文化商务谈判的影响
经济全球化趋势不断增强且中国经济快速发展,使得中美贸易往来与经济合作显著增加。因此,中美商务谈判的重要性也日益突出。然而,由于谈判双方讲不同的语言、有着不同的文化价值观、面子观、礼仪观、思维方式、个性等方面的文化差异,这些文化差异对商务谈判的结果造成直接影响。
基于比较的方法,本文主要阐述了中美文化面子观的不同与原因及其对跨文化商务谈判在历史文化、个人主义和集体主义以及高低语境方面的影响,并根据其不同与影响提出了相关的建议,目的是使中美双方树立正确的文化意识,将双方误解降到最低,以使双方谈判人员避免不必要的误会或尴尬,最终能够顺利完成商务谈判。

Cross-Cultural Business Negotiations between China and US from the Perspective of Differences of Face Perceptions
Abstract
With the tendency of strengthening economic globalization and high-speed development of China’s economy, trade contacts and economic cooperation between China and US increase obviously. Hence, the importance of business negotiations between China and US is increasingly prominent. However, fact that the two parties have cultural differences such as different languages and different cultural values, the view of face and etiquette, way of thinking, characters and so forth. All of these directly impact the results of negotiations.
Based on the method of comparison, the thesis mainly discusses different views of face and its influences which include historical culture, individualism and collectivism, and high-context and low-context between China and US. Meanwhile, according to the differences and influences, the author puts forward some suggestions which aim to make negotiators in China and US set up correct cultural consciousness to minimize the misunderstanding and avoid the unnecessary conflicts or embarrassments to make the business negotiations fulfilled successfully.
