话语能够显示一个人在群体和社会中拥有的权力和地位。为了分析《魔幻玩具铺》中主人公们与菲利普舅舅之间的话语权争夺，论文共分五章。第一章为小说内容、话语权的简要介绍和相关论文的文献综述。第二章从性别和社会关系两个方面依次分析角色话语权丧失的原由。第三章分述了话语权丧失的影响，即角色在家长面前的失语和绝对顺从，但影响也包括促使中产阶级背景的梅兰妮和属于工人阶级的基瓦尔一家团结在一起。第四章分析了在夺取话语权的过程中，受压迫者对父权制的反击使得制度基础崩塌，秩序难以恢复，大家长最终选择同归于尽的方式进行报复，但两个年轻人梅兰妮和费因逃脱出来，成为组成新世界的希望。最后一章结论认为通过这个故事安吉拉·卡特警示了话语权丧失的危险但仍旧持有乐观的态度。

The Loss and the Retrieval of Discourse Power in The Magic Toyshop
Abstract
Discourse is able to show one’s power and status in groups and a society. In order to analyze the discourse power struggles between the protagonists and Uncle Philip in The Magic Toyshop, the thesis contains five chapters. The first chapter gives a brief introduction on the novel and discourse power and a literature review. The second chapter explains why the characters lose their discourse power from perspectives of gender and social relations. The third chapter states the influence of the loss, which is the muteness and absolute obedience in front of the patriarch, but it also includes the positive effect of the unity of Melanie and The Jowles, one from the middle class and the others from working class. The fourth chapter shows that during the retrieval of discourse power, the oppressed fight against the patriarchy so that the foundation and the order of the system are ruined. The patriarch tries to burn everyone and everything out to retaliate but two youngsters, Melanie and Finn, escape, becoming the hope of the new world. The last chapter draws the conclusion that while Angela Carter intends to caution against the danger of losing discourse power, she still expresses optimism at the end of her story.
