圣提亚哥命运新析A New Analysis of the Destiny of Santiago
诺贝尔文学奖获得者海明威，是美国文学史上最著名的作家之一。他的著作《老人与海》中的主人公圣地亚哥向来被看作是一个不屈的灵魂，硬汉似的英雄形象，被人们称扬和赞颂。它讲的是关于年迈的古巴渔民圣提亚哥与大马林鱼之间抗争的故事。老人战胜了大马林鱼并杀掉他，却在回去的路上遇到鲨鱼袭击，大马林被鲨鱼吃掉，老人最终奄奄一息空手而归。然而，从另一角度出发，即主人公在最终徒劳无获而几乎倾尽所有这一事实，可以看出圣提亚哥命运的悲剧色彩，进而引发对圣提亚哥命运的分析。

Abstract
Ernest Hemingway, a Nobel Prize winner for the literature, is one of the greatest American writers. The Old Man and the Sea is one of his most famous works. In his work, the hero Santiago is considered as a indomitable sole and a unyielding man to be encouraged and prized. It writes about an old Cuban fisherman Santiago battled with a great Marlin. Santiago defeated the giant Marlin but struggled with the shark, which ate up the Marlin on his back way. The old man brought the skeleton home and went to bed to dream, almost dead with exhaustion. However, on the other hand, the fact that come back empty-handed but Santiago, who strived against the shark, it seems imply a tragic feature in Santiago’s destiny. Therefore, it supposed to analyze the fate of Santiago. The last chapter is the conclusion.
