公示语翻译中存在的问题及翻译策略研究Due to the existence of cultural differences between Chinese and English, translation of public signs often needs to use some skills or follow some principles. However, due to the fact that public signs translation has not really set off a research boom for a long time, domestic scholars and translators still have some unsolved problems in the field of public signs translation. Since the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the research in the field of public signs translation in China has made some progress and development, but it still faces many problems. There are some basic errors, such as the translation level or attitude of the translator spelling errors, information loss which leading to inaccurate translation. all these problems need to be solved. Therefore, based on the discussion of the existing problems, this paper will explore the translation strategies of public signs. Hope to find a translation method that can make the translation natural, fluent and accurate, convey the original meaning and conform to the habits of Chinese and English expression. This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the definition of public signs translation and lists its characteristics and categories. With the process of world diversification, the translation of public signs plays an increasingly important role in life, so its existing problems are more and more attention or easier to be found. In the second chapter, we mainly discuss the common problems in the translation of public signs with examples. The problem has been placed in front of us, and the pace of research and development and social progress does not allow us to sit idly by. Then the third chapter mainly expounds the principles that should be followed in the translation of public signs, in order to find out how to achieve higher quality translation of public signs.
