Appreciation of the famous quotation of On Encountering TroubleAbstract: Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet in Chinese history, is the representative writer of 'The Songs of the South'(Chu Ci). On Encountering Trouble (Li sao) is the most outstanding one of Chu Ci. David Hawkes, a well-known Sinologist, translated On Encountering Trouble. We try to explore the characteristics of his translation strategies, such as notation and symbolism of plant names.
