在经济学中，有关产业结构变动和优化问题的研究已有上百年的历史。社会生产的产业结构或部门结构是在一般分工和特殊分工的基础上产生和发展起来的。本文首先介绍了产业结构的一般含义和影响产业结构变动的因素，针对我国当前知识经济下产业结构的特征和现状，结合发达国家产业结构发展进程及其特点，重点研究美国经济及产业结构变动的特点，美国产业结构的影响因素和预测分析，分析得出我国产业结构优化的策略，即发展高新技术产业、实施产业融合、发展优势产业和发育高效率的金融体系。
