法律英语的修辞特征及其翻译策略摘要法律语言是从事法律活动的基础，法律英语作为一种专业英语，具有独特的文体特征。本文从词汇、句法和篇章层面简要分析了法律英语的修辞特征，探讨了法律英语的准确性、一致性、清晰性和专业性等翻译原则，提出了法律英语修辞汉译可采用的策略，包括舍弃原文的修辞手法、尽量寻求在本国法律语言中与原文对等或相似的修辞手法、转换原文的修辞手法以适合汉语法律语言的要求以及其它灵活的策略。

Rhetorical Features and Translation Strategies of Legal English
ABSTRACT
As a professional variety, Legal language is the foundation of legal activities, having its own features. Legal English is characterized by special rhetorical devices on lexical, syntactical and textual levels of legal English. This paper briefly analyses the rhetorical features and translation disciplines, such as preciseness, consistency, clarity and professionalism. It sums up some adoptable strategies in Chinese-English translation, including giving up the rhetoric device of the original text, seeking the equivalence or similar rhetoric device in the target language, or changing the rhetoric device of the original text to satisfy the need of Chinese legal language and adopting flexible skills to translate the legal terms.
