论英语委婉语在英语教学中的应用

 
摘  要
英语委婉语在人们日常生活中广泛而鲜活的使用着，并已成为英语学习中不可或缺的组成部分。作为英语语言学习中很主要的一部分，委婉语一直是语言研究者的兴趣所在。论文介绍了英语委婉语的定义，起源，分类，探讨了委婉语的构成方式和特点。由于委婉语对语言教学起着极大的促进作用，本文重点论述了英语委婉语在英语教学中的应用，分析了影响学生委婉语学习的一些因素，探讨了教学中应用委婉语的重要意义，并提出一些可行的教学策略来引导学生掌握这一语言现象，在提高学生基本语言知识能力的基础上，进一步提高他们的跨文化交际能力。

Application of English Euphemism in English Teaching

ABSTRACT

Euphemisms are widely and vividly used in our daily life and have already become an indispensable part of English learning. As a major and natural part of English language, euphemism has long been arousing wide interest. The pragmatic analysis of euphemism expressions remains, explores its origin, deals with its classifications and characteristic. Since the euphemism plays an active role in facilitating the second language teaching, the paper lays an emphasis on the study of application of euphemism in English language teaching. It inquires into the factors influencing students’ learning of euphemisms, analyzes the significance of applying euphemism in teaching, and puts forward some tentative strategies to help the students grasp this language phenomenon, thus improving their basic linguistic competence and communicative competence.
