从女性主义角度看《飘》中女性的悲剧

摘  要

自从《飘》问世以来，人们对她的态度始终褒贬不一，但是做为宣扬女性主义的著作，她受到全世界《飘》迷的追捧。书中独立自主、个性张扬的斯佳丽和温柔贤慧、善良坚韧的美兰尼成为女性主义的代言人。但是身处男权社会的这两位女性即使比男人更能干、更聪明、更有智慧、更能面对现实，她们最终也难逃悲剧的收场。本文从女性主义的角度出发，分析这两位女性遭遇的悲剧，并指出行为思想与主流思想的冲突、社会环境的禁锢以及特定的历史时期美国南北方之间的矛盾冲突是导致她们悲剧命运的原因。从而总结出作者玛格丽特•米切尔的女性主义观以及在时代背景下她女性主义观所包含的思想困惑以及造成困惑的原因。

View on the Women’s Tragedy in Gone with the Wind from the Feminist Perspective
 

ABSTRACT
 

Since the publication of Gone with the Wind, the public’s attitude to it is always mixed. But as a book which promotes feminism, it is admired by fans all over the world. The independent, personalized Scarlett and gentle, tenacious Melanie become the spokesmen for feminism. But in the Patriarchal society, even though the two women are more competent, more intelligent, and better at facing the reality than men, they could not escape the ultimate tragic ending. This paper analyzes their tragedy from the feminist perspective, and it points out that the conflict between Scarlett’s idea and the mainstream, the social environment imprisonment imposed on Melanie and the northern impact on the south are the three main reasons for their tragedy. What is more, the paper excavates Margaret Mitchell’s concept of feminism as well as the reasons for her confused conception of feminism in that circumstance.
